Tall and spindly with a lilting gait, Yogensha has been likened to a wilting flower caught between the jaws of the year's first frost. This illusion is only furthered by the man's sickly complexion, which borders on ashen gray, complementing the shock of short, black hair atop his head. Indeed, the only true sign of something approximating life in the demon's husk of a body is the two orbs of amber set deep in his skull, eyes that seem to question the very existence of all they see.

Undoubtedly strange for a demon, Yogensha can often be found donning the livery of a religious man. Though memories of his life as a human are hazy at best, he is drawn to the attire and will often compulsively count the string of sixty red beads about his wrists like some meticulous piece of clockwork. If religious attire is out of the question, however, the demon will opt for something understated and subdued, often in muted earth tones that are designed to draw little attention to his otherwise noteworthy appearance.

Perhaps the most unsettling of Yogensha's features is the way he moves. Mechanical and stilted, the demon's body at rest remains inhumanly still until it begins to move like some sort of puppet on a string. Each limb seems to move about independently of one another and in nothing resembling a regular rhythm, creating the illusion of a watch whose cogs are missing a few teeth. Indeed, at times, the demon's movements appear to be more those of a malfunctioning robot than the corrupted flesh that he truly is.  

Personality

Obsessive and erratic, Yogensha is a mess of contradictions. Not unlike an ill-formed pendulum, his moods can swing from friendly to vindictive and back again all in the span of a few minutes. This creates a personality defined by a lack thereof. Indeed, such an animal instinct creates a demon that lacks the ability to effectively execute on long-term plans with any regularity. It does, however, make him an excellent soldier when given short, time-boxed tasks that have a well-defined mission. Perhaps the only true constant in Yogensha's personality is a fixation on time and anything associated with it.

History:

Yogensha was a man born out of time. His family adhered to ancient religion and expected it to live on through their only son. And so, each day began and ended with a mantra as Yogensha lived a life away from the worries of everyday life. Some might have called it peaceful, but the young boy saw it as a waste of time. From his perspective, he was giving up years of his life to his parent's wishes. Time, unfortunately, was something he would and could never get back no matter how many mantras he read or offerings he made, but his protests fell on deaf ears when raised with his parents.

The years slipped by and Yogensha resigned himself to his fate, his family was all he had ever known and so he fell into a numbing routine that lasted for nearly three decades. He became the perfect son, a son that his parents were proud of and a son who carried on the traditions of a dying spiritualism in a post-modern world. Then, one day, that all changed with a pilgrimage to Tokyo. Attempting to preach to a group of vagrants, Yogensha did not see the pipe that sent his world spinning. He did, however, feel the sharp pain, and his world darken before going entirely black. Indeed, the last human thought that passed through the soon-to-be demon's mind was just how much of his life he had wasted on someone else's dreams. He had squandered his short time on earth.
