At some point he’d been separated from Youka. He wasn’t sure when or where but regardless the man was nowhere to be found. He was sure that they would be reunited eventually, but that was for a different time. Things happened for a reason, and those reasons often presented themselves at the most interesting of intervals.
His chakra was currently being suppressed to a point of zero. Though it seemed overkill, his current persona was that of humble Takigakure mercenary, so there was no reason to give away everything on the first meeting. He felt that in the event he was sensed by someone he could also easily explain the phenomenon. After all, the world outside the gates was a dangerous place, made more dangerous by the lack of protection villages offered. Indeed, villages sought to protect themselves, and only themselves. Making sure that those within the walls stayed safe while the rabble left beyond them were to choke on whatever situation was thrown at them. These feelings had come back, as he had made his migration towards Konohagakure. Having suppressed himself a long way back. Their goal, their mission was to learn more about the place, though he knew deep down Youka’s only ambition was the destruction of such a place. It was on the table, though it seemed a touch uninspired. A record played one to many times. Better to merely target the leaders if they lacked the ability to lead.
These thoughts and more rushed through his mind as he stood at the busy gates discussing matters with a guard. His entry had been halted by the arrival of a very eccentric gentlemen that was some ways off in the distance claiming he wished to speak with the Kage. A bold claim, and once again he had to entertain the idea that things happen for a reason. It was with some confusion that his own person had halted and was staring off at the commotion, thus the cause of his own delay.
Surely no Kage would deem such a thing worthy. To merely let in someone who was so bold as to call out a leader. He was at some distance so the exact nature of his words couldn’t be heard, but he noted the guards did nothing, and as a sassy fellow he knew sass when he saw it. They didn’t deny him, they didn’t check him, they did…..nothing. They stood weak……racked with confusion at what was no doubt a simple thing to deal with.
To add to the confusion a new set of new comers arrived. A nasty looking woman and a very young man would move out to speak with the man. Dropping the pen he currently carried that he’d been using to fill out paperwork with the guard he would kneel down them already having passed their eyes in the man, opportunity so rarely fell into one’s lap. It often took so much time and energy, waiting and planning……and yet sometimes you just snap.
He hadn’t wanted to do it. It had been the youth of the Kage, the ease at which he let a seemingly hostile man into a village. The weakness of guards confused by simple offenses. Perhaps Youka had just worn off on him more than he thought. Regardless, he knew his move. He’d merely wished to observe the strength of a village….and now he had. Maybe that was unfair, but so was life.
His hands would move quickly from his crouched position. They would occur as the woman was still eyeing the man, at the same time the young man had turned his head back to the bold man and his child. Moving as quickly as he was able tiger-boar-dog-dragon-rat would form as his body seemed to glitch and alter from reality. As soon as rat was formed his hands continued, boar-dog-bird-monkey-ram-seal of confrontation, and then the world exploded.
The blast would erupt outwardly those closest catching them off guard blown away by what seemed a strong burning wind. The structures around now covered in a black and red substance made up of the Napalm release chakra, their integrity being eaten away and crumbling almost instantly, the gates of konoha now malformed.
The distance from which Maku stood as the epicenter for the explosion was thus, he was approximately 20m from the Kage, with the woman 3 meters in front of him eyeing the man who was still some distance away. It was likely that due to them standing away from the gates that the father and daughter pair if they moved quickly could escape the blast. It was however highly unlikely anyone else in the surrounding area would. As soon as he had committed to using the hand-seals he’d have activated the rinnegan, his visual prowess hidden behind violet contacts, but still allowed him to see the devastation that had fallen over the surrounding area. He would be on the lookout for his next move, eyes in the direction of the three most powerful targets scanning across their faces. Just as he had done when he’d initially crouched down, despite the business closer to the gates his line of sight clear free of interruption.
His hands continued to move starting to form seals in preparation for the next attack should it be needed. He wished to speak, but perhaps that time was over. His chakra sensory on high alert.

What it does: The jutsu can be cast through eye contact for power listed above, or at half power should a target look at the user
The target is subject to a Chakra check. If they succeed, or have a Sharingan of Mangekyo or above, they have the ability to break this technique as normal if they recognize that it is a Genjutsu. If they do not meet these conditions, they are unable to break this technique with Genjutsu Release and must use other methods.
Upon casting, the user gains control over the target's senses and perception of time. Even if the target is able to break this technique 'immediately' and escape any deleterious effects, the caster will still be able to control their perception for many days from their subjective perspective.
If the target is under the effects of this technique for three posts, they are rendered catatonic, manifesting as either a coma or complete unresponsiveness to stimuli. Due to immense psychological damage, they can only be brought back from this state by an S-rank Medical technique of equal or greater power.
If the target is made to be immobile with this technique, the caster is rendered immobile as well and cannot cast any new techniques.
The user may optionally pay up to a base AP cost of 1,000 (any base amount between 100 and 1,000, before any reductions) to cast this technique. If they pay extra AP, this technique's AP drain is equal to half of that base AP cost as per Genjutsu rules.
One of genjutsu mastery may use the genjutsu even without eye contact. Thus, mastering this technique allows the user to cast the genjutsu by looking at the target at its full power, so long as they are within 30 meters from their location. This mastery option requires 2 mastery slots to take effect
