JAPAN’S AESTHETIC

Japan has changed drastically over the years as new eras and bright new minds come in to take charge. With the beginning of the cyberpunk era Japan saw a major shift in its culture and also the very land itself. As more and more resources were taken to fuel the growth of the three battling corporations Jason’s land saw massive erosion and decay as the planet was slowly being sucked dry. The ozone layer was the first major hit that Japan and some other parts of the world that had overly industrialized saw.

With it failing a dome was built over japans most recognizable city, Tokyo. The dome keeps in and refilters the clean air that would otherwise be poisonous over long exposure. The man made sustainment system has its own Day and night cycle built in to reflect what normal days and seasons used to look like. Japan has it the worst compared to other continents as the suns rays have become deadly if exposed to uncovered skin.

What makes Japan unique is that the capital is the only city now above the ground protected by the life giving dome. This is where the rich and powerful all live. Those who have the best in cybernetic implants, your politicians, actors and actresses. They all live above it all in comfort. Japans other cities are almost like hives underground all connected by bullet trains and passageways that interconnect with one another.

These cities keep some other their uniqueness in different ways and you’ll just have to visit them to experience what they have to offer and take in the sights. However these are where the normal every day working man or impoverished lives. Those who stunt make enough to live up top but still have to visit it to perform their job. Or others who have made these hives their source of income going from Borough to borough attempting to take what’s theirs.

Down here you’ll find a lot of black market parts and shady deals going on. Demons love it here as it’s is almost perpetually night time in most of the cities. Don’t be fooled however Japans bubble dome over Tokyo allows demons to walk freely in the false daylight as well easily mixing themselves in with normal humans as best they can. The smaller buildings you’d find down here are most times No taller than your three to four story home which paddles in comparison to the skyscrapers that make up Tokyos development.

No matter where you go you’ll feel the life of the areas as most places are over populated and people are forced to move frequently to hopefully find more space in a different connected city. Even Tokyo has recently begun an expansion job to make room for their ever growing society and need for more buffer and better things.
